In 1977 I was the manager of a law firm called Kravet, Hoefer & Ryan in the Bronx and I used to distribute work to process servers for service. Back in those days process servers would fill out a little sheet with service information or the problems they had serving a paper explaining why they couldn't serve it. One day I received one such sheet from a server. The note on the piece of paper said "Could not find the address". What was the address? 350 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY which just so happens to be the location of the Empire State Building. After witnessing such incompetence I decided I would get my own license and serve the firm's papers myself. I quickly found that I was a natural. With the right kind of effort and devotion mixed with my street smarts and cunning I was able to serve papers no one else could.

I never intended to make it a full time job but word spread quickly within the legal community that I was fast becoming an expert at difficult services. Other lawyers started to call me and ask me to serve all their work. I told them no; I said to them "just give me your hardest cases." From there things took on their own course and I soon started Serving By Irving, Inc. I only hired the best and still only do. To this day we remain the place lawyers always know they can call for their services. From routine services to the seemingly impossible, we are always available to be at your service.
